Join the Cox Capitol Theatre, Candy Coburn, StevensLayne (Molly Stevens, Whitney Layne, Shane Bridges and Josh Carson) for an evening of unforgettable music.
From the moment she hits the stage, you sense that Coburn is not your run-of-the-mill chick singer. Maybe it’s because she doesn’t count on her good looks to engage the crowd, but relies on her energetic delivery, true-to-life lyrics and a show that rocks. Perhaps it is the signature green guitars she uses for every performance. Whatever it is, it’s easy to see why Candy and her music are undeniably contagious.
Born in Kentucky then raised in southern Missouri while spending summers in Texas with her father, Candy’s introduction to music came from her grandmother’s old record player and 8-track player. While she grew up on gospel and loved it as well as country music, it was country music that stole Candy’s heart. As a child, she remembers watching her first CMA Awards show and getting a certain feeling in her stomach, one that said, “Man, I want to do that!” But it would be years before she was able to do her own music her own way. As all life journeys go, there were a few bumps along the way, a few detours, and several wrong turns; but all of these are necessary to make the outcome so much richer.
Candy has recently released a new CD with major Nashville producer Joe Scaife (Montgomery Gentry/Gretchen Wilson). Watch for it, listen for it…Better yet, go to iTunes now and download “Pink Warrior”. All profits from sales of the song go to “Susan G. Komen for the Cure.” Why? Because Candy is not only infectious…she cares!
Opening for Coburn is StevensLayne! Meet this incredibly powerful up and coming group that consists of Molly Stevens, Whitney Layne, Shane Bridges and Josh Carson.
After moving to Nashville from Macon, Molly Stevens met Whitney Layne at a Nashville music venue and instantly joined forces as a singer/songwriter duo! Whitney has been in Nashville for over three years and has been very successful advancing her independent artist career. But after meeting Molly Stevens, she knew that her path was about to take a huge turn…“I would have been crazy to deny the magic that happens when our voices combine forces,” says Layne. Stevens and Layne have been very busy writing in Nashville and playing shows on the road as a duo. They both feel very strongly about taking the next step in their careers together.
A Macon native, Stevens introduced Layne to a couple of guys that have been touring across the United States sharing their music for over a decade. Shane Bridges and Josh Carson are some of Stevens’ long-time friends and song writing partners from back home. Carson and Bridges started playing with Stevens and Layne and their dynamic instrumental skills, vocals and writing styles just seems to “complete” the group StevensLayne.

this is my first time here and I just wanted to stop by to say Hi Everyone
